Hey everyone, CykaDev here!

Alright, so a few things to note here. First, I’m terribly sorry for the two day delay. I’ve been rather tired lately and it’s been harder to keep up with everything, so I’ll try to make sure that the weekly news are on time from now on. You can ping me and call me out whenever I forget them, okay? Also, I’m sorry about the previous weekly news disappearing. We’ve had a rather serious website crash, and we lost the recent database changes. Won’t happen again! Hopefully.

Okay everyone, let’s see what’s up this week!

Not only do we have news about the  game itself, but also about the website, and the potential future of CykaDev (again?!).

Let’s start with the website. As I stated above, we had a rather serious issue with the website. The thing is, upon updating our current theme, the website decided it would be a good idea to waterboard our work. Several times. Figuratively. It was a nerve racking experience, and I was afraid we would lose all the posts we had made up until now. Thank God, though, since we made some backups recently and managed to recover most of the content we had (well, except that one post… ).

Since I hate having unstable bases to work on, I decided that the website needed an overhaul. This one, despite being visually good, is very slow. It runs on a heavily modified WordPress, and doesn’t load very well on mobile. This ends now! I’ve started working on a handcrafted, cleaner PHP version of the website, in order to have full control over the content, database, and loading times. I don’t know how long it’ll take for it to be released, but rest assured it is in the works. For all of you out there who can’t or don’t want to load the website because of the speed, it’ll soon be fixed!

A quick word about CykaDev. As I said, I gave our future a bit more thought, and I think if the company succeeds enough, it wouldn’t be impossible for us to try and work on other projects that aren’t necessarily game-related. Some of you may already know that I’m studying to become a software engineer, and as such, I am able to produce applications and softwares that could potentially be useful. Now, this is just an idea, but it’d be nice if we could diversify our work field a bit.

Let’s finally get to the game! For the statistics, I can proudly say that we are really, really close to finishing the second PD/route, with 161.400 lines and 816.000 words. I’ve been slowing down a bit recently, because as stated above, I’ve been feeling unexpectedly tired with the exams coming up and my work for CykaDev getting so overwhelming. I am however still very dedicated to everything, and no delays will be happening! 🙂

As I said in the previous post that was deleted, there will be no Concrete Information Corner for a few more news, as I’d like to avoid spoiling the actual concept of the VN while we finish it up. We’re trying our best to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

      Haha, if you're talking about the views counter, I think it has some kind of bug! For some reason it doesn't reset to 0 when I make a new post. I'll make sure that's fixed in the new version.
