Hey everyone, CykaDev here!
Once again, the news are really late into the night, for my fellow Europeans. Sorry, I’ve just finished writing for today.
I’m finally done! It’s 1am, and I’m feeling dead inside. Just kidding, I’m gonna keep the jokes for tomorrow.
So, what’s new this week? Nothing much, as usual, except for one thing: I have boosted my daily maximum writing to 1200 lines! I kept thinking I could do more but limited myself to avoid writing stuff I wouldn’t be proud of, but I seriously feel like I can do it. So even though it does add a lot more daily work, I still enjoy doing it and love seeing the stats improve, day after day, faster and faster!
Time for THE NUMBERS. I have a new stat I’d like to let you know about, since it gives a nice little outlook on the game itself. Doki Doki! RainClouds’ script weighted 471 Kb, while Doki Doki! New Eyes’ weighted 869 Kb (Logical, since it lasted twice as long as DDRC). Our VN’s script currently weights… 3.70 Mb. According to some articles I read, a VN is considered as long when its script exceeds 1 Mb. We’re on the right track, my friends.
As for lines & words, we currently have 494.000 words for about 93.000 lines. Still growing, still growing.
Drum rolls… It’s time for the Concrete Information Corner!
Just like I said last week, I want to share a bit more information about some of the characters. Note that the word “some” is really important, since I’m not going to share info about every single one; there are some elements I’d like to keep secret until we reach the end of the writing phase. Hopefully, in a month or two, you’ll have a much clearer vision of the project… We’re finally slowly getting out of the dark!
Aaaand today’s lucky winner is Erin Melia! Sounds really Japanese, doesn’t it? I know. It’s justified. Don’t ask me.
Erin seems a little hesitant at first, as she isn’t too sure of how to approach people. She’s not a confident person: she acts like she knows what she’s doing, but she really can’t get used to a normal student’s life. She’s a sweet person, sometimes a tad too naïve, but she doesn’t want to hurt anyone. She can’t take part in any kind of fight, as she absolutely refuses to shout at anyone. She’s overly dependent sometimes, but also a really reliable girl.
Here we go! More info next week, as usual 😉
Thank you for your support, and I’ll be seeing you next week!
